Abstract: This article presents the application of SBH series high voltage inverters in the coal transportation system 5×350MW power plant.
The use of medium voltage inverters not only allows for smooth and continuous speed regulation of belt conveyors, but also enhances the economic efficiency of their operation.
In long-distance and high-capacity belt conveyor projects, multiple drive units are often employed. The key lies in achieving torque balance between different drives.

1. Project Overview
Located within Zhundong Economic and Technological Development Zone in Wucaiwan Industrial Park, Jimusaer County, Changji Prefecture, Xinjiang is a national-level development zone, that serves as an energy core area for China’s “Belt and Road” initiative in western regions. It is also a significant base for the “transmission outwards from Xinjiang” project and acts as a demonstration area for China’s largest coal-to-natural gas conversion project.

Zhundong Coalfield within this development zone is China’s fourteenth energy base and one of Xinjiang’s five major coalfields. reserves reaching 390 billion tons (accounting for 17.8% of Xinjiang’s total reserves which amount to 21.9 trillion tons).
Currently, proven coal reserves stand at 213.6 billion tons with excellent quality suitable for power generation, chemical industry applications, and oil production purposes.

2. Overview 
The long-distance coal conveying belt conveyor system in Xinjiang Dongfang Hope mainly consists of 5 belts: TC01, BC01, BC02, BC03, and BC04. Among them, BC02 is the longest single belt in Asia.
Each belt is composed of a belt conveyor, brake device, reducer, drive motor, belt scale, pull wire switch, misalignment sensor, tensioning device, drum roller, idler roller, support frame and other components.
Some key design parameters for the main belts are as follows:
TC01: Length 2,351.8m; Width 1.4m; Design capacity Q=3000T/H; Adopting the driving mode of two heads and one tail.
BC02: Length 10,660.5m; Width 1.6m; Design capacity Q=4000T/H; Adopting the driving mode of three heads and two tails with coaxial rigid connection for the two head rollers.
BC03: Length 3,505.8m; Width 1.6m; Design capacity Q=4000T/H; Adopting the driving mode of three heads and one tail with coaxial rigid connection for the two head rollers.
BC04: Length 1,023m; Width 1.6m ; Design capacity Q=3000T/H ; Adopting single motor drive at the head section.

4. Benefit
After 16 sets SLANVERT SBH medium-voltage inverters have been successfully integrated into production and operation, with all performance indicators meeting the specified design requirements.

5. Summary
